TTF develops plays through four stages:
- The MUSE Program - Sign up via Facebook for a 20 minute slot to workshop a short play, scene, or soliloquy with TTF actors in NYC. Facilitated by Associate Artistic Producer, Chris Rivera. MUSE is held the first Wednesday of most months.
- The Proteus Project - By invitation only. Playwrights who have developed new work through MUSE may be invited to join the Proteus Project, a private music stand reading of their full length plays with TTF actors in New York City. This project was made possible by the support of the Sheen Center.
- The Annual Staged Reading Series - Submissions re-open December 2018. Two to three full length plays are chosen annually for a public, fully staged reading. Plays must feature female protagonists, and should either be in heightened text or reference classical plays. Shorter plays referencing classical texts will be considered for Cocktails and Classics. The Reading Series is made possible thanks to the support of The Shakespeare Forum.
- Mainstage Productions - By invitation only. TTF is pleased to produce plays featuring a female protagonist, written in heightened text (verse preferably). Frequently, these plays have been developed with TTF through one of our above programs, and is then invited to a full production at the discretion of TTF.
When Do You Accept Play Submissions?
