Mission Statement
TURN TO FLESH PRODUCTIONS (TTF) is an NYC-based theatre company which develops new epic stories in heightened text with vibrant roles for those historically excluded from western classical art.
In short, we produced "new Shakespeare" plays...for everybody Shakespeare didn't write for. Using timeless tools like poetry, verse, and myth, Turn to Flesh grapples with modern (and even divisive) questions in search of the True, the Good, and the Beautiful.

Vision Statement
As creators, we have the power to move hearts from stone to flesh, from apathy and indifference to compassion and understanding. The world we share is both broken and beautiful, and as citizens of the world and as artists, we believe in crafting art which challenges and uplifts, elevating the conversation beyond the everyday and towards the eternal.
In today's cultural climate, where parties have entrenched themselves against each other, Turn to Flesh proposes wading into "no man's land" in order to encourage dialogue between warring factions. Our hope—founded on 25+ years of experience—is to foster intellectually honest debate about issues while encouraging heartfelt reconciliation between persons.

Core Values
- TTF is committed to fostering new plays which explore the Good, the True, and the Beautiful. These ancient “transcendentals” guide us as artists. We believe that theater serves us best when it nourishes and challenges our souls with goodness, truth, and beauty, and we seek to cultivate artists who share these values.
- TTF is committed to respecting the dignity of every artist we serve. We believe that upholding the dignity of artists requires providing them with respectable wages for their work. We are committed to providing a safe, clean, encouraging, and professionally stimulating work environment, with the understanding that good process leads to good performance.
- TTF is committed to respecting the dignity of every audience member. We aim to provide professional, quality entertainment that is visually, intellectually, and emotionally stimulating, art which challenges the audience to question core convictions, confront prejudices, and examine alternate points of view. TTF believes that merely asking questions is insufficient, and that to conduct a meaningful dialogue, one must also propose solutions to tough problems.
- TTF is committed to hiring artists with passion for truth, enthusiasm for dialogue, and respect for their fellow artists. We hire the best artists for the role, regardless of shape, size, or stereotype, while remaining sensitive to the unique gifts and challenges of each artist who comes through our doors.
- TTF is committed to commissioning, workshopping, and producing new stylized plays in heightened text. We believe the world is ripe for new verse plays which explore universal and epic themes, and we aim to help our culture reclaim the tools to create textually rich plays.
- TTF is committed to producing plays that feature complex characters for womxn. We recognize that, in the world of classical theatre, roles for womxn are often scarce, one-dimensional, or all-too-brief. We choose to be a company that celebrates women in all our diversity, creating new roles that explore all the colors and textures of femininity.
- TTF is committed to producing plays that feature complex characters for all artists underrepresented in Classical Theatre. We recognize that, traditionally, classical theatre has been written from a single demographic. We aim to broaden the world of verse theatre to give voice to playwrights, directors, actors, and artists from every background, so that a multitude of stories may be told.
